How holographic technology works
How holographic technology works
HoloTrak works like no other scanner. It uses exclusive Metrologic holographic technology. As scan areas grow larger and bar code labes move faster, HoloTrak shows its superior performance over conventional scanners, achieving significantly more "good reads". A simple, powerful, rotating disc is HoloTrak's only moving part. The HoloDisc contains about 20 holographic lenses which aim, focus and control the scanning beam. These lenses also collect and adjust the signals returning from the bar code. It takes precision engineering to make a master disc, then exact copies are made using a proces similiar to photographic printmaking. This process is simple, accurate, and cost-effective.

How holographic scanning works:

1.   Laser beam (red) is aimed at the HoloDisc®
2.   Spinning HoloDisc creates the scanning beam
3.   The rotation sweeps the beam across the bar codes. Reflected signals (yellow) pass back through the HoloDisc. The holographic lenses on the disc collect and balance the signals
4.   The return signals are relayed to a photodetector where they are converted into electrical signals which are then decoded
