PG Elections is improving Canada’s Electoral Process with the use of Bar Code Scanning
Metrologic Supplies 3,000 MS5145 Eclipse Hand-held Scanners to PG Elections

Blackwood, New Jersey – October 27, 2005 -- Metrologic Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS:MTLG), today announced that it has supplied 3,000 bar code scanners to PG Elections who will be utilizing them in the Canadian electoral process.
Through BlueStar Canada, one of Metrologic’s leading distributors, PG Elections has implemented as part of their electoral process solutions, the MS5145 Eclipse™ as their scanner of choice. The MS5145 is Metrologic’s low cost, laser-based bar code scanner. The scanner’s compact form factor and high end feature set simplify its use in a variety of applications at the press of a button. Guided in the evaluation and selection process by BlueStar Canada, PG Elections began their search for a scanner in March of 2005.

By November 6 th, all of the scanners will have been installed, in time for Canada’s 2005 elections. Each voter, equipped with a bar coded voter identification card, will go to the polls, have their card scanned by Metrologic’s MS5145, and then make their choice of leaders.
